How to Measure Your Ring and Bangle Size at Home
The most accurate measurement is taken in the shop, but if you are ordering online or buying a gift, this method gives you a number you can send us on WhatsApp for us to match.
Ring size
Method one (the most accurate): take a ring that fits the same finger, and measure its inner diameter in millimetres with a ruler — from inner edge to the opposite inner edge.
Method two: wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark where the ends meet, then measure the length in millimetres. That is the circumference; divide it by 3.14 to get the diameter.
Make sure the ring passes over the knuckle: for many people the knuckle is wider than the base of the finger, and the right size is the one that slides over the knuckle with light pressure.
Hiyool size (rigid bangles)
Hiyool do not open, so their size is set by the widest point of the hand, not the wrist. Bring your thumb towards your little finger as if slipping on a bangle, and wrap a strip around the widest part of the hand at the knuckles.
Divide the circumference by 3.14: the result is the inner diameter you need, in millimetres.
Sizes commonly used in Gulf shops are written as 2.4, 2.6, 2.8 and 2.10, and correspond roughly to inner diameters of 57, 60, 63.5 and 66.7 mm. If you have a hiyool that fits you, measure its inner diameter directly — that is the surest way.
Bracelets with a clasp
Here you measure the wrist: wrap the strip around the narrowest point just above the wrist bone, then add about one centimetre for comfort — or a little more if you like it loose.
Common mistakes
Measuring when your hand is cold, or after washing it in cold water, gives a smaller size. Measure at the end of the day, with your hand at its normal temperature.
Elastic string stretches and gives the wrong number; use paper or a measuring tape.
If you are between two ring sizes, the larger is the safer choice — and resizing is possible for most plain rings.
Quick questions
How do I find someone's ring size for a gift without them knowing?
Take a ring they wear on the same finger, measure its inner diameter in millimetres, and send us the number on WhatsApp.
Do I measure my wrist for a hiyool size?
No. A hiyool passes over the hand, so you measure the circumference of the widest point of the hand with the thumb tucked in.
