How to Buy Gold Online in the UAE Safely
Buying gold online is convenient, but you need to know what to ask. This checklist works with any shop — and alongside it, how we apply it at FLORET.
1. The weight in grams is stated, not “approximately”
A gold piece's value starts with its weight. A serious shop states the weight in grams for each individual piece, not an approximate range. If you cannot find the weight on the page, ask for it before anything else.
At FLORET the weight is written on every piece's page, and we confirm it with you on WhatsApp before any payment.
2. The karat and purity number
The karat tells you the share of pure gold: 21K = 875 per thousand, 18K = 750, 22K = 916. Ask for the karat to be stated clearly, and make sure the piece is hallmarked with the same number.
3. A photo of the actual piece
Generic catalogue photos are not enough for gold: details and finish vary from piece to piece. Ask for a photo or video of the piece that will reach you — and a photo of its weight on the scale if possible.
Ask us on WhatsApp for a photo or video of the piece itself before you confirm. Any “on model” image on our site is labelled as illustrative.
4. The final price including VAT
In the UAE, gold jewellery is subject to 5% VAT. Ask: does the price shown include VAT? And will any other fees be added at checkout?
The price shown on every piece at FLORET is the final price in AED, including VAT.
5. The invoice
Ask for a tax invoice in the shop's name stating the weight, karat, description of the piece and the price. This document is your reference for any repair or later resale.
6. Delivery: where to, and at what cost
Check that the shop delivers to your emirate, what the delivery fee is, and who receives the parcel. Gold is handed to the person who placed the order or to someone they name.
We deliver across the UAE, and delivery is free on orders over AED 1,000. We confirm the arrival time for your area with you on WhatsApp.
7. When do you pay?
The safest order of things: you choose, the shop contacts you and confirms the piece, its weight and its price, and then payment and delivery are agreed. Avoid any shop that asks for a full transfer before confirming the specific piece with you.
With us there is no payment when you send an order: we contact you on WhatsApp and confirm the piece and its weight first. And if you would like to see it before deciding, the showroom is in central Al Ain.
